Outlook Express saves files in DBX format and MS Outlook saves files in PST format. Bloons tower defense&& try the games play. Use either the manual method or a specialized software to convert DBX to PST files. Note: In this case, install both email clients, i.e., Outlook Express and Outlook 2010 on the same computer.

I compressed my email messages and now I can't access anything. They are compressed in a DBX file and I can't figure out how to uncompress them.
I really need to get back into my inbox as I have an electronic plane ticket in there.
HELP PLEASE!
I should have bought a MAC.

DH has used this program in the past, to recover email data for people. He had to buy it, though, so try the microsoft page first.

Outlook Express Program
Can you use System Restore to go back to where your computer was before you compressed?
I have, a couple of times, sent an email to John Fried, the Philadelphia Inquirer's computer columnist - [email protected] He has always responded within 2-3 days at most, and his responses were always helpful.
I cannot tell you how many times I've said I should have got a MAC - at which point my MAC using son says (under his breath) 'told you so'.

Thanks everyone. Dawn I'll look into the links you mentioned. DH is also going to ask his IT guy at work on Monday.
Ginny, I have used MAC at work for years, it is by far waaaaayyyy better than the PC based systems. It is so easy to use, a lot harder to mess up and it not nearly as suseptable (sp?) to viruses but DH didn't want to go that way. Why do I always listen to him?

Cori, were you able to decompress your emails?
By Heaventree on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 - 10:15 pm: |
Ginny, thanks for asking. I have not tried yet. I've been busy cleaning up after all my animals today.
I asked DH to ask his IT guy at work and he sent me this article:
Mindspring
Looks like there is some good info and help in there, but I need to print it out and study it before attempting. I don't think it's going to be a simple thing and my printer is out of black ink. Oh I just had a thought, I'll copy it into Word and change the colour. Thanks Ginny!
